Dear District Chairman (2017-18),

At the outset let me congratulate you on your election as District Chairman for the year 2017-18.
As we embark on a year of friendship and collective Service, I am deeply honoured to share this memorable and meaningful journey with you to successfully achieve your vision and goals for the year.
The impact of our association in building better lives and creating happier futures vests with our clubs in providing a platform for our members to come together and execute community need based projects that align with the objectives of our organization. This can only happen by focusing on Extension, Retention, Membership growth, Strategic planning effective training, promoting leadership and involving members in the programmes and activities of the club and District, to grow Inner Wheel. As District Chairman your role is pivotal in guiding and monitoring the clubs to higher echelons of achievement.
In our efforts to create a more socially equitable and environmentally sustainable world, we look to concentrating our efforts in protecting and empowering women, promoting gender equality, enhancing literacy initiatives, skill development and bringing about a positive environmental impact. Our work is diverse and far reaching and reflects IW's deep passion and committment to Empathize, Educate and Empower women in all stratas of society.
The importance of education and Literacy is a guaranteed way to change lives. By equipping people with literacy skills and quality education, we can increase their access to economic opportunities and emancipation, which is turn will help alleviate poverty.
We need to give full support to the praiseworthy initiative of our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in improving the quality of the environment through the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' Programme. Our children must also receive guidance and instruction in Hygiene and Health Care, Handwashing etc and provinding clean and healthy surroundings to grow. We must also ensure that suitable toilet facilities are provided for girls in schools thereby limiting dropouts from the educational system. Care should also be taken to educate girls on menstrual hygiene, child rights and sexual abuse in society.
As responsible citizens we must also make all efforts to conserve and protect the environment'sby limiting our use of paper and moving towards electronic communications for reducing our carbon footprint.
Let us work together with commitment and dedication in the coming year for the causes of Inner Wheel by making our clubs stronger and more effective. Every efforts must be made to project the good work of our clubs, thereby improving our public image and increasing the brand value of Inner Wheel. Let us reach out by inviting more wonderful women to join us in expanding the great work we do.
The International Inner Wheel Convention is begin held in Melbourne, Australia in April 2018 with Dr. Kapila Gupta as the International IW President. Let us make every effort to promote and support the Melbourne Convention by attending in large members.
